The British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has suffered severe disruption to production and sales due to a cyber attack.

According to the company, the systems were shut down in order to limit the damage. “We are now working quickly to restart our global IT systems in a controlled manner,” said a spokeswoman in response to a dpa inquiry.

It was initially unclear who was behind it

So far, there is no evidence that customer data has been stolen. Jaguar Land Rover belongs to the Indian group Tata Motors.

It was initially unclear who could be behind the cyber attack. Several large companies and institutions have recently been the target of sometimes devastating cyberattacks, including the Marks and Spencer department store chain and the British Library.
