Qualcomm has shown interest in acquiring parts of Intel's design business to expand its own product offering, according to Reuters. The smartphone chipmaker has been looking at various Intel divisions as the company plans to shed units and sell assets due to financial constraints.

This year's IFA technology show is also a computer trade fair. In the competition for the AI laptop of the future, mobile chip specialist Qualcomm has now countered a move by chip pioneer Intel.
