After the Kiss cam debacle at a Coldplay concert, the two managers of a software company who were caught have now had to give up their jobs.
The head of HR, who was filmed hugging the CEO, also resigned, the company Astronomer confirmed to the US broadcaster CNBC, among others. Company boss Andy Byron had already handed in his resignation at the weekend, as Astronomer announced.
The scandal kept the internet busy for days. The couple were filmed at a concert near Boston by the so-called Kiss Cam, which transmits a video to screens in the hall. When the couple recognized each other, their reaction caused quite a stir: The woman cupped her hands to her face and turned away, the man quickly crouched down and hid. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” commented Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
After the video went viral online, internet users quickly found out that it was about the married top manager and the head of HR at Astronomer. Many US companies have strict rules about relationships between employees, especially if one of them is in a managerial position. Astronomer is now being managed on an interim basis by a co-founder and is looking for a new boss.
