Major internet disruption hits Eastern Europe and beyond as Google’s core services and others go down, leaving thousands unable to search, send emails, or access essential online tools.

According to Downdetector data, problems began around 09:43 local time. As of the time of writing, over 6,000 user reports have been submitted. The outages are affecting nearly all of Google’s services, particularly its search engine. Users are reporting disruptions especially with video playback, file uploads, and email sending. Google has not yet issued an official statement regarding the issues.

Outages not limited to single region

The problems are currently being experienced across multiple regions. While initially reported in Turkey and Greece, issues have now been documented in the United States and other parts of Europe as well. Although reported cases in other regions remain relatively low for now, the problem appears to be spreading globally. According to the data, the outage was first primarily reported in Eastern Europe.

Beyond Google services, users are also reporting access problems with other platforms including Spotify, Cloudflare, Character.AI, and Anthropic Claude. The scope of the outage suggests potential infrastructure-related causes affecting multiple service providers simultaneously.
