Linda Yaccarino was head of Elon Musk’s Platform X for just over two years. It is unclear who will succeed her.
The head of Elon Musk’s online platform X is leaving her job after a good two years. Linda Yaccarino did not give any reasons for her decision when making the announcement on X. In recent years, she had always defended Musk’s policy of loosening the guard rails for content at the former Twitter. Musk brought X, which previously operated as an independent company, under the umbrella of his AI company xAI in March. Even then, questions arose as to whether Yaccarino would remain at the helm under these circumstances.
Musk bought Twitter in October 2022 for around 45 billion dollars and initially took over the management himself. In June 2023, he brought Yaccarino on board, who had previously been responsible for the advertising business of media giant NBCUniversal. Musk continued to play a key role in determining the course of the platform.
X and xAI are currently being criticized because Grok, the chatbot developed by the AI company, attracted attention with anti-Semitic remarks.
