The popular AI chatbot ChatGPT is experiencing significant technical problems again today, Thursday. Numerous users have reported disruptions on outage tracking platforms, with Downdetector recording over thousands of reports across different countries.
“Too many concurrent requests” – Users locked out
The error message “too many concurrent requests” is currently appearing for many users attempting to access ChatGPT. Complaints from frustrated users are piling up on Reddit and X, with people finding themselves facing a non-functional chatbot in the middle of work or study sessions.
One user reported: “It’s fully broken for me right now. This keeps happening.”
Another added: “Getting the same problem. Keeps having network errors and too many requests at once. Open AI website says no issues but other detectors show a spike in reports that there is issues with the servers. Hopefully this gets fixed soon I’m trying to study haha.”
Meanwhile, OpenAI has acknowledged the problems on their official status website, confirming that they are aware of the ongoing issues affecting ChatGPT users. The company has not yet provided an estimated timeframe for when services will be fully restored.
Multiple major outages in 2025
ChatGPT has already faced several significant disruptions this year. On January 23, 2025, a massive outage occurred where many users attempting to use ChatGPT only saw error messages like “Bad gateway” or “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable.”
