Zscaler, provider of cloud security solutions, has officially completed the acquisition of security company Red Canary.
The integration brings together two companies that specialize in different but complementary aspects of IT security – with the aim of joining forces for a joint, advanced security offering.
Red Canary, known for its many years of experience in threat intelligence and security operations, will initially continue to operate as an independent business unit under the name “Red Canary, a Zscaler company”. This is intended to ensure continuity for existing customers. At the same time, the company will benefit from Zscaler’s global infrastructure, resources and market reach.
A key element of the collaboration is the planned integration of Red Canary’s agent-based AI technology into Zscaler’s existing security platform. The aim is to create one of the most powerful Security Operations Center (SOC) offerings on the market.
Synergies from Zero Trust and AI
With its Zero Trust Exchange, Zscaler is introducing a platform that analyzes around 500 billion transactions every day. In combination with Red Canary’s automated threat detection and standardized response processes (runbooks), security measures will not only be more reactive in future, but also smarter and faster.
This new connection enables customers to design their SOCs more efficiently and automatically detect, investigate and defend against threats. Managed Security Services Providers (MSSPs) also benefit: They receive new tools on this basis to offer security services at a higher level.
